Toddler Tech has been a successful program at the Jenna Welch & Laura Bush Community Library, but today, Toddler Tech took to the road.
Today the librarians took the program to the Richard Burges Library in the Northeast. Ten children and their caregivers joined in for the program. First, we warmed up with some singing and dancing, then we read Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert. After the story and songs, it was time to get to the educational technology. Children were introduced to literacy and problem-solving apps on the iPad2. Parents learned that many of the apps their children were enjoying could be found for iPhones and sometimes the same app was available on Android devices.
The room was full of energy and the sound of children and their parents, grandparents and siblings learning something new. Caregivers and children learned new skills that they shared with one another. It was a fun time and we hope to bring Toddler Tech back to the Richard Burges branch soon!
